The winter is always annoying. You almost always have a cold, your fingers get dry and they peel. The school day seems to be a lot longer because the sun is up for less time each day and it's cold. On the other hand the winter can be fun you get to go skiing and sledding. It's a lot easier to go tracking in the snow than the grass, and it snows. The snow is the best part it make the world looks so beautiful. The best is when you go to bed and you wake up and the world is covered in a white powdery blanket.
I chose to do the poem Christmas Trees by Robert Frost because I liked It and I wanted to do a piece of poetry. I have always done poetry and wanted to do it in 9th grade also liked the poem because of the fact that it talks about just the christmas spirit and that a Christmas tree means so much to people.
The city had withdrawn into itself
And left at last the country to the country;
When between whirls of snow not come to lie
And whirls of foliage not yet laid, there drove
A stranger to our yard, who looked the city,
Yet did in country fashion in that there
He sat and waited till he drew us out,
A-buttoning coats, to ask him who he was.
He proved to be the city come again
To look for something it had left behind
And could not do without and keep its Christmas.
He asked if I would sell my Christmas trees;
My woods—the young fir balsams like a place
Where houses all are churches and have spires.
I hadn’t thought of them as Christmas trees.
I doubt if I was tempted for a moment
To sell them off their feet to go in cars
And leave the slope behind the house all bare,
Where the sun shines now no warmer than the moon.
I’d hate to have them know it if I was.
Yet more I’d hate to hold my trees, except
As others hold theirs or refuse for them,
Beyond the time of profitable growth—
The trial by market everything must come to.
I dallied so much with the thought of selling.
Then whether from mistaken courtesy
And fear of seeming short of speech, or whether
From hope of hearing good of what was mine,
I said, “There aren’t enough to be worth while.”
“I could soon tell how many they would cut,
You let me look them over.”
“You could look.
But don’t expect I’m going to let you have them.”
Pasture they spring in, some in clumps too close
That lop each other of boughs, but not a few
Quite solitary and having equal boughs
All round and round. The latter he nodded “Yes” to,
Or paused to say beneath some lovelier one,
With a buyer’s moderation, “That would do.”
I thought so too, but wasn’t there to say so.
We climbed the pasture on the south, crossed over,
And came down on the north.
He said, “A thousand.”
“A thousand Christmas trees!—at what apiece?”
He felt some need of softening that to me:
“A thousand trees would come to thirty dollars.”
Then I was certain I had never meant
To let him have them. Never show surprise!
But thirty dollars seemed so small beside
The extent of pasture I should strip, three cents
(For that was all they figured out apiece)—
Three cents so small beside the dollar friends
I should be writing to within the hour
Would pay in cities for good trees like those,
Regular vestry-trees whole Sunday Schools
Could hang enough on to pick off enough.
A thousand Christmas trees I didn’t know I had!
Worth three cents more to give away than sell,
As may be shown by a simple calculation.
Too bad I couldn’t lay one in a letter.
I can’t help wishing I could send you one,
In wishing you herewith a Merry Christmas.
This winters been driving me crazy
It been a winter with out snow
Its like a cake with out frosting
It's like a pepperoni pizza with out pepperoni
It's as if they forget the most important part
When it becomes winter you want it to snow
Because that's the only time of year it snows
If it doesn't snow what the point of winter
If it doesn't snow I don't really like the winter
If it doesn't snow you can't ski in fresh new powder
If it doesn't snow you can't go sledding
With out snow winter is it fun
With out snow winter becomes a long grey season of you sitting inside.
My senior reflection is coming up soon, and I am not looking forward to presenting in front of the entire school. I know that I have been on stage in front of the entire school, but thats during tech. When I am in tech I am not talking or trying to be noticed, unlike when I will be doing my senior reflection. I have also made only one announcement at all school meeting, which was in 7th grade. I am doing it on the 30th of this month and you can say that I am not looking forward to it. I have not meet with Mrs Ward yet but I think I know what I will be reflecting on. Overall I know that It will go fine even though I am worried about it.
The first Fenn wrestling match didn't go quite as we had hoped. The match was against belmont hill and nobles. When we got there we went in and waited for belmont hill to finish up warming up then we took the mat. We warmed up and then went to the side to wait for the match to start. We lost the first few matches and I also lost my first match also 7-0. Then in my second match I went down 5-1. Then at the start of the third period I hit a sag headlock. I took him right to the ground with 45 second left in the period. I then held him down for the rest of the match but never got the pin. Even though I did not get the pin I still won by One point 5-6. Over all it was a fun afternoon even though we lost. Hopefully the team does better in the next few weeks.
Hey, you there, yeah you
Yes, you in the blue shirt
The one way in the back
Yeah the one pointing at yourself
All confused why I am talking to you
I am selling my self and my stuff
Every thing from the socks
To the computers
You get it all
The socks, the underwear
The shirts, the pants
You get it all
The baseballs, the soccer balls
The baseball bats, the soccer nets
You get it all.
Have you ever wanted to go fishing with some one
But there no one to go with
I will go fishing
I will play soccer
I will even go camping with you
You have to buy me
If you want the messy rooms
Then you can buy me
Because you can get it all
You will get a friend who is willing to help in times of need
A friend who is there when you need them most
A friend who is willing to play pranks but knows when it's gone too far
A friend who is able to give you help
But remember now,
All of this comes at a price
Its a negotiable price
But a price at that
Now do you want me
Or have I been wasting your time
"Painting is silent poetry, and poetry is painting that speaks."
I like to write poetry. The main reason that I like it is that it allows the writer to write about anything that he wants to write about. You can write about the weather, the most resent trip that you took or something as small as an ant, there is no limit. It also has almost no boundaries that you have to write within. It can be any length and you can form it however you would like. I do not see a reason that you would not like it. I think tat the reason that most people don't like poetry is that they think you have to rhyme every stanza, and have to format it a specific way but in reality you should just write down the words that flow of you young the best. If something does not sound write then you should probably not write about it. If you are writing something and you like the way that it flows and you like the way it sounds as you read it then it is probey a good poem.
A room full of boys
A school full of boys
A town full of boys
lets put it this way:
It just boys
Spewing out smoke
Billowing, flying high in the sky
Constantly upward never ending
Smoke and fire look great
Until you see what is burning
Why did we use them
Why, why, why
They never work
We always need help
Yet they didn't listen
We still got iPads
Always there when you don't nee them
Never there when you do
Everyone has one but where is it
The kid who has one needs to hide it
Or he won't be able to charge his iPad
