A few weeks ago I did a fundraiser run to help raise money for the veterans who returned home and could not get help with their PTSD or other mental problems that they may get when returning form war. To start the day we had to get up at the crack of dawn to be at the stadium by 7:00 Am. Once we got there we sat down and listened to people talk about how thankful they were and why we were here and who raised the most money and all the numbers. Then we did the run which was 5.5 miles or 9k. We started in the third wave and I finished in a time of 56 minutes. At the end you run in to Fenway park and then wait in line to go across home base. The entire run was a lot of fun and i want to do it again.
Today I went on the slowest fishing trip ever. We started at 1 PM and then started fishing almost instantly we caught three fish and then we traveled to two other spots and caught nothing. after that we went back to the first spot and caught eight more fish and at the end of four hours we had 11 fish.
Over the past weekend I was up in the white mountains serving cover crew at carter notch hut which is a hut on the AT (Appalachian Trail). I hiked up on Friday morning and it took us three and a half hours to go the 3.9 miles and gain 1200 feet in elevation. I hiked in with my Mom and Grandmother and my Grandfather went on ahead because we needed to have some one n to the hut by noon so that the crew could leave. When we got there we had some lunch and unpacked our backpacks. That night we had a fresh bread with a tomato minestrone soup with a garlic chicken as the main course and ginger bread for desert. We then cleaned the dishes and ate our own dinner. That night we had one though hiker ( a hiker who is walking the entire AT). When they are on the trail the pick up names that often are given to them by other people. The hiker who we had on the first night was called Neck bone. He was from Georgia and had left there one the 31st of march. The next morning we had to get up at 5:30 in the morning so we could start cooking breakfast and wake everyone up at 6:30 so that they could get down the hill to the cabin for breakfast at seven. For breakfast we had pancakes and bacon. After we had breakfast we cleaned up from breakfast and then I played cribbage with my Mom. for lunch we had soup and the we went for a hike up one of the 4000 footers in the area. When we got to the top I went to the top to claim my first 4000 footer. When we got back down to the hut I took a nap and then we started to cook dinner which was turkey peas pasta and soup. The next morning we had breakfast of eggs and bacon and then went to climb among the ramparts and at about on we left to go back to the car. On the way down I slipped and almost feel in the river that we were hiking along side of. Other than that it was an amazing trip.
